RASA Director for Communications

Alexandra Borissova appointed communication director of the Russian-American Science Association (RASA-America).

Dr. Alexandra O. Borissova is a Russian science journalist, with a background in chemistry. She is currently a senior lecturer at the Center for Science Communication at the ITMO University (St. Petersburg, Russia). As a science reporter and editor she collaborated with the leading Russian news outlets (TASS news agency, Gazeta.Ru, RBC). Once the first head of communication office at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, she now teaches online news journalism (Moscow Polytechnical University) and corporate science communication (ITMO University). She is a former German Chancellor Fellow (Alexander von Humboldt Foundation). Executive director of the European Conference of Science Journalism-2020. In 2016-2018 she was a president of Russian Association for Science Communication (AKSON), since 2021 she is a board member of the association SWIM – Science Writers in Italy.
